Hudson Highland Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:HHGP) shares are rising 21% after the staffing provider posted first-quarter net income of $1.4 million, or $0.05 per share, which trumped Wall Street’s expectation of a loss of $0.05 per share. A year ago, Hudson posted first-quarter earnings of $55,000, or breakeven per share.
