Silicon Graphics descends after missing Wall Street’s Q3 revenue view

Silicon Graphics, Inc. (Nasdaq:SGIC) is falling 16% in late afternoon trading after the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based provider of high-performance computers reported late Tuesday that its fiscal third-quarter revenue tumbled 29% to $79.1 million from $111 million a year earlier. Wall Street analysts were expecting only a modest decline to $91.1 million. The company’s quarterly loss widened to $39.7 million, or $3.49 per share, versus $23 million, or $2.07 per share, a year earlier.
