IXYS Corp. (Nasdaq:IXYS) announced Tuesday it would increase its line of products to include high-powered diodes in miniature packages. These power sources are especially suited for portable products, the Santa Clara, Calif.-based company said. The company said these semiconductors should help create new power management opportunities for it in telecommunications, computing, medical and industrial markets.

Shares of IXYS hopped up about 9% to $12.47 apiece.
