Tri-Valley beats year-end oil production goal by more than six months

Tri-Valley Corporation (AMEX:TIV) said Friday it had beat its year-end goal of producing more than 2,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day by more than six months. The Bakersfield, Calif.-based oil, metal and mineral company said it believes it is on the way to becoming a 10,000 barrels of oil per day operation by the end of this decade and that it can lift production to 3,000 by the end of this year. Shares rose 13% to $7.62 on Friday.
