Hackett Group jumps 11% on Q2 profit, revenue growth

Shares of The Hackett Group Inc. (Nasdaq:HCKT) are up 11% on below-average volume in today’s trading after the company reported an improvement in its second-quarter results. Revenue for the quarter ended June 27 was $49.1 million, up 8% from 2007. Net income was $4 million, or $0.10 per share, up from $1.45 million, or $0.03 a share, for the same quarter a year earlier. The company is a global strategic advisory firm and said that it was able to flourish this quarter despite a weak economy.

At 10:47 a.m. ET, shares of Miami-based Hackett are at $6.09, up $0.61 from Monday’s close. The stock has ranged from $3.06 to $6.50 during the past year.
