CommVault Systems, Inc. (CommVault) creates and markets Unified Data Management solutions for high-demand networks.  CommVault Systems offers a suite of data management applications under the Simpana (formerly QiNetix) brand.

Data management systems include: backup, disaster recovery, data migration, archiving, discovery, usage tracking and systems troubleshooting.   CommVault also offers professional consulting services worldwide.

Simpana 7.0, officially launched July 10th, is a major update to its QiNetix system with better-integrated search capabilities, single instance storage technology and content indexing tools.  Simpana 7.0 also boasts a simplified electronic discovery tool and better security.

CommVault Systems’ software is built on a single code base that reduces administrative costs with respect to hardware and software acquisition, installation and maintenance and even storage media usage optimization.

Besides industry leading software, CommVault Systems also produces some best-in-class financials.  Since fiscal year 2003, ended March 31, 2003, the company has improved its sales by 240% from $44.4 million to $151.1 million.  In the most recent quarter, fiscal first quarter 2007, ended March 31, 2007 revenue totaled $42.62 million, up nearly 32% over the year before.

Best of all, the company’s gross margin is reliably above 84% year after year for the last 5 years; this translated into first quarter fiscal 2007 non-GAAP EPS of $0.14 per share, fully diluted.  Analysts are calling for earnings of $0.58 in the current year, fiscal 2008, on revenues of $191.8 million.

On June 14th, the company issued 7.5 million shares at $17.00 per share before underwriting commissions and discounts.
