Andrea Orr

Andrea Orr has worked as a financial and business journalist for more than 15 years in New York, Los Angeles and northern California.

As the former Silicon Valley Bureau Chief for Reuters, Andrea chronicled the dot-com boom of the late 1990s as well as the ensuing bust that saw stock prices collapse, companies go out of business and left a new level of skepticism over investment stories that sounded too good to be true. While covering the Internet bubble, Andrea frequently wrote about individual investors who lost significant chunks of their savings after receiving bad investment advice, an experience that left her mindful of the challenges small investors often face understanding company fundamentals and analyst research.

Andrea also has extensive experience covering the retail, healthcare and entertainment industries, and her work has been published in newspapers and magazines around the world. She is a published author whose 2003 book “Meeting, Mating and Cheating,” took a serious look at the Internet dating phenomenon and covered the business of online dating.
