Kevin Pendley covers the Russell 2000 index for SmallCapInvestor.com and writes a weekly technical analysis column.

Kevin has been involved in a variety of financial and commodity activity for two decades, including more than 15 years with Knight-Ridder Financial News/BridgeNews. Kevin began his career as a reporter in Chicago covering commodities markets, and worked his way up to Senior Correspondent and Chicago Bureau Chief, overseeing coverage of stock, currency and debt-related financial futures and options markets.

Along the way, Kevin developed the first dedicated wire service coverage on stock options, managed futures, technical analysis and hedge funds. On the charting front, Kevin launched the first international newswire Technical Analysis product, hiring, training and managing several technical analysts through the process.

For the last several years, Kevin was involved in television work in Chicago, in addition to publishing a daily newsletter on Technical Analysis and actively trading the markets. Kevin has been a regular guest on public television’s Nightly Business Report, and has also appeared on CNBC and CNN to analyze financial and commodity market trends. His articles have been published in such major newspapers as the Washington Post, Chicago Tribune and Philadelphia Enquirer.
