En Pointe Technologies reports decrease in net, but increase in sales for Q4

En Pointe Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: ENPT), provider of business-to-business information technology products and services this morning reported a decline in fourth-quarter net income from a year ago, but posted a 24% increase in sales.

For the three months ended Sept. 30, the El Segundo, Calif.-based company recorded net income of $0.7 million, or $0.10 per share, compared with net income of $1.5 million, or $0.21 per share, reported in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2006. No analyst estimates were available.

The small cap attributed the results to continued increases in selling and marketing expenses related to the company's investment in service infrastructure, engineering staff and customer offerings.

Total net sales increased 24% to $97 million, compared with $78.4 million reported for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2006. No analyst estimates were available.

Shares of En Pointe Technologies (ENPT) jumped 15.03%, or $0.43, to $3.29 in pre-market trading. Shares of En Pointe Technologies have been trading in the range of $2.55 to $7.74 for the past 52 weeks.
