Dress Barn falls 4% on lower Q4 earnings

Dress Barn Inc. (Nasdaq:DBRN) saw its shares slip by nearly 4% this morning after reporting a drop in fourth-quarter earnings.
For the three months ended July 26, the Suffern, N.Y.-based specialty apparel retailer earned $22.1 million, or $0.34 per share, compared with $33.6 million, or $0.48 per share, in last year’s fourth quarter.
The company cited “a very challenging retail environment” for the decline.
By late morning, Dress Barn is at $14.78, down $0.58 from Wednesday’s close. The stock has ranged between $9.35 and $17.95 in the past year.
