8x8 awarded patent
8x8, Inc. (Nasdaq: EGHT), which provides Packet8 broadband Voice over Internet Protocol and videophone communication services, said this morning that it has been issued a U.S. Patent No. for speech processing.
The patent covers 8x8’s invention surrounding speech signal processing. According to 8x8, the invention provides a speech processing method and arrangement, including a process for standard speech encoding recommendations.
Shares of 8x8 (EGHT) were halted in pre-market trading.
