Overhill Farms surges 27% on strong Q2 results

Overhill Farms, Inc. (AMEX:OFI) shares are surging 27% in Thursday morning trading after the frozen food manufacturer reported fiscal second-quarter revenue of $66.4 million, besting Wall Street’s expectation of $57 million. A year earlier, the Vernon, Calif.-based company’s revenue was $46 million.
The firm’s quarterly profit skyrocketed 256% to $3.2 million, or $0.20 per share, from $0.9 million, or $0.06 per share, during the prior-year period. Analysts anticipated earnings of $0.13 per share.
