Duckwall-ALCO Stores names new CEO

Duckwall-ALCO Stores, Inc. (Nasdaq:DUCK) announced before Wednesday’s opening bell that it appointed Lawrence J. Zigerelli as Duckwall’s new CEO. “We are delighted to announce that Larry Zigerelli is joining Duckwall-ALCO Stores. He is an accomplished and successful executive who we believe can lead the company to the success and financial rewards that shareholders deserve and expect,” Royce Winsten, Duckwall’s chairman of the board, said in a statement. “Underscoring his commitment to the Company, Larry is also investing his own capital to purchase Company shares at yesterday's market price.” Abilene, Kan.-based Duckwall is a regional household goods retailer with 262 stores in the central United States.
