Sequenom launches iSEQ application, reaches high for year

Sequenom Inc. (Nasdaq:SQNM) said early Wednesday it has launched its iSEQ application software, which is directed toward the infectious-disease market. Sequenom, a genetics and molecular diagnostic company, said the application allows for the identification of microbes and viruses along with human disease molecular markers. Shares of San Diego-based Sequenom rose more than 6% to a high for the year of $17.52.
