China Steel gives Cognex multi-million dollar order

Cognex Corporation (Nasdaq:CGNX) said ahead of the opening today it had received an order from China Steel Corporation for seven of Cognex’s SmartView surface inspection systems. The multi-million dollar order is the largest the Natick, Mass.-based company has ever received, the company said. The company develops computers that help automate manufacturing processes.

In today’s pre-market trading, shares are mostly flat at $23.92, up $0.10 from Friday’s close. During the past year, shares have ranged from $14.67 to $28.10.
