The SmallCapInvestor.com Top 25 Composite is a computer-generated ranking of the leading stocks in the small cap universe. Rankings are based on a stocks fundamentals, projected growth rates, institutional sponsorship, and technical trend lines. This composite is comprised of stocks that are showing an increasing relative strength to the Russell 2000. As a result, this index should outperform the Russell over long periods of time. A company's inclusion in the ranking should not be viewed as a recommendation.

Last week the Russell 2000 sold off, ending down 5% to $481.30, but the SmallCapInvestor.com 25 composite was on average only down 4.4% for the same period. We expect selling in the market to continue this week. We did manage to capture a few nice gainers despite the broad sector sell off in the market. Leading the list last week was Repros Therapeutics (Nasdaq:RPRX), Mastec Inc (Nasdaq: MTZ), and Orchids Paper Products (Nasdaq :TIS), up 20.6% 5.7% and 3.2% for the week.

Here are the top 25 stocks for the week of January 12, 2009...
