Gladstone Capital down on news of 3M-share offeringGladstone Capital Corp. (Nasdaq: GLAD) shares are down in heavier-than-average volume after the money lender announced before the opening that it priced a three million-share public offering at $17 apiece. The McLean, Va.-based firm said it will use the proceeds from the sale to repay short-term debt. The company, which lends money to small and medium-sized businesses, said the offering’s underwriters — Deutsche Bank (NYSE: DB) Securities Inc., Oppenheimer & Co. and Robert W. Baird & Co. — are allowed to grant a 30-day option to buy up to 450,000 additional shares of common stock. The offering is expected to close on Feb. 5. In afternoon trading, GLAD shares are down 4.86%, or $0.84, at $16.44. Over the last 52 weeks, shares have ranged from $15.91 to $24.84.

Gladstone Capital to offer 2.5M sharesPublic investment firm Gladstone Capital Corp. (Nasdaq: GLAD), which specializes in debt security investments, said that it will offer 2.5 million shares at $18.70 per share. The small cap said it expects net proceeds from the offering to equate to approximately $43.7 million and will be used for the repayment of existing short-term debt under the company's line of credit. Gladstone noted that its underwriter, Deutsche Bank Securities, has been granted an option, exercisable for 30 days, to purchase up to 375,000 additional shares of common stock to cover overallotments, if any. The offering is expected to close on Oct. 19. Shares of Gladstone Capital (GLAD) slid 2.03%, or $0.38, to $18.32 in pre-market trading.
