GoAmerica up 21% in pre-market trading after Q2 earningsGoAmerica, Inc. (Nasdaq:GOAM) was up 21% to $8.70 in pre-market trading following the 8:00 a.m. ET release of second-quarter earnings. In the three months ended June 30, revenue soared to $30.6 million, from $4.3 million a year earlier. The company attributed the growth to its fist-quarter purchase of the telecommunications relay services business of Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) and its merger with Hands On Video Relay Services, Inc., and to organic growth in the company’s video relay services business. Income during the quarter totaled $1.2 million, compared with a loss from operations of $810,000 a year earlier. There were no analyst estimates available. GoAmerica provides communication services for the deaf, hard of hearing and speech-disabled communities.
GoAmerica regains compliance with the NasdaqGoAmerica, Inc. (Nasdaq: GOAM), a provider of communications services for people who are deaf, hard-of-hearing, or speech-disabled, said after Wednesday’s close that it has regained compliance with the Nasdaq stock exchange. The small cap had violated a Nasdaq rule in connection with the issuance of shares of the company’s Series A Preferred Stock in August 2007. Specifically, the company’s conversion of preferred stock into common stock without shareholder approval was restricted in the “Certificate of Designation.” The company said that the restriction was only applicable while the company's common stock was listed on Nasdaq or another exchange. Shares of GoAmerica (GOAM) gained 2.82%, or $0.20, to $7.30 in pre-market trading. Shares of GoAmerica have been trading in the range of $3.57 to $10.87 for the past 52 weeks.

GoAmerica, Inc. to buy Verizon’s TRS divisionShares of GoAmerica, Inc. (Nasdaq: GOAM) are trading higher today after the telecommunications services provider for people who are deaf or hard of hearing said it will acquire the assets of Verizon's Telecommunications Relay Services (TRS) division. The Hackensack, NJ.-based company will pay $50 million in cash and up to an additional $8 million in contingent cash consideration for Verizon’s assets. GoAmerica said it would finance the acquisition through the issuance of $65 million of new preferred stock and debt to Clearlake Capital Group. “This transaction accelerates GoAmerica's strategy to expand its presence in the relay market, while giving the company a financially sound platform for growth,” said Dan Luis, CEO of GoAmerica. Verizon’s TRS division includes nationwide IP-based forms of text and video relay services as well as contracts to provide text-telephone based relay services in California, Tennessee, and Washington, D.C. According to GoAmerica, the TRS business unit generated approximately $67 million in revenue in 2006, 93% of which was derived from IP-based services. Last year GoAmerica generated $0.13 million in total revenue.
GoAmerica posts loss in Q1
Hackensack, N.J.-based GoAmerica, Inc. (Nasdaq: GOAM), a provider of communications services for the hearing impaired, is seeing its shares fall on news on a net loss in the first quarter of 2007.

The net loss for the three months ended March 31 was $0.77 million, or $0.35 per share, compared with a net loss of $1 million, or $0.46 per share, during the first quarter of 2006, the company said after Tuesday’s close.
