Dynacq Healthcare, Inc. leads Monday small-cap percentage gainers

Hospital holding company Dynacq Healthcare, Inc. (Nasdaq: DYII) swung to a third-quarter profit on a dramatic revenue swell. For the three months ended May 31, the Houston, Tex.-based company announced net income of $2.6 million, or $0.17 per share, from $0.8 million, or $0.05 per share, a year earlier.

U.S. Xpress Enterprises, Inc. leads Monday small-cap percentage gainers

A management-led team of truckload carrier U.S. Xpress Enterprises (Nasdaq: XPRSA) announced it plans to initiate a $20 per share offer for all class A common stock.

The Associated Press reported on Sunday that General Electric Co. (NYSE: GE) is buying thin film products from DayStar Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq: DSTI).

America First Apartment Investors, Inc. (Nasdaq: APRO) reported it has signed a contract with Sentinel Omaha LLC, an affiliate of the privately held Sentinel Real Estate Corp., for $25.30 per share, or about $532 million in cash.

Professional services company Versar Inc. (AMEX: VSR) announced it was awarded a design and build contract for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The contract is associated with the base realignment and closure program at Fort Lee, Va.

Orexigen Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: OREX) announced its weight loss treatment Contrave showed a positive effect on visceral fat and insulin resistance in a mid-phase study.

European hedge fund firm GLG Partners announced its plan to go public though a transaction with Freedom Acquisition Holdings, Inc. (AMEX: FRH).

Citing a new management team and expansion outside its core denim business, CIBC World Markets upgraded True Religion Apparel, Inc. (Nasdaq: TRLG) to “sector outperformer” from “sector performer.”

Build-A-Bear Workshop, Inc. leads Friday small-cap percentage losers

Build-A-Bear Workshop, Inc. (NYSE: BBW) cut its second-quarter guidance to between $0.07 and $0.10 per share, down from between $0.15 and $0.19 per share. The St. Louis-based company cut its view because of less-than-expected sales over the last two months.

Terremark Worldwide, Inc. (Nasdaq: TMRK) delayed filing its annual report with the SEC, citing delays in collection and compilation of certain financial information.

Finlay Enterprises leads Friday percentage gainers

Phazar Corp. (Nasdaq: ANTP) announced Thursday evening that the company’s Antenna Products unit received a $0.9 million order from the Spanish telecom company Page Iberica S.A. The Madrid-based company ordered four Multiport Antenna Systems. Phazar said the order will be shipped in October for installation at a Spanish NATO site.

Sporting goods equipment maker Everlast Worldwide Inc. (Nasdaq: EVST) announced Friday morning it agreed to be acquired by Hidary Group for $26.50 a share, or more than $146 million, in cash. Hidary’s offer is a 30% premium over Everlast’s average closing price over the last month. The all-cash offer, which still has to be approved by Everlast’s shareholders, should make Everlast private by the third quarter ending Sept. 30, the company said.

Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corp. (Nasdaq: GLDD) received a bullish mention Thursday evening by MSNBC pundit Jim Cramer. The Illinois, Ill.-based business provides dredging, marine construction and demolition services.
